I would have one and was planning on one with the full leather etc...but thinking I might go to a D3 now when the time comes

would love one,,,,
but cant see the sense only upgrading by 4 years,,

Coils on base (5 seater) or factory optioned with ACE and SLS
3rd row seats on all but base
2nd and 3rd row A/C options std on HSE
18's on HSE and SE but 16's on base model and S
One's with 18's came with flares
Can't remember much else from when I bought mine in 2003.

My parents have just thought almost the exact same thing. They were looking at a 2003-04 Td5 and spending around $25k and getting a pretty damn decent one, but came to the decision that 1) its not twice the car my 300tdi D1 is so they'd be better off spending $10k, doing a few mods and pocketing the difference, or 2) spend a bit more and get a TDV6 D3 which for what they want really would be worth the extra and they've not really had any problems to speak of...

In your situation I'd be pretty seriously thinking about saving/spending the little bit extra and go a D3... you know you want to...
