Thanks for the insight regards the creepy crawlies.... not even a misquito!! Went off 3 x's at 1 hourly intervals before killing the battery. Wanted to kick the tyres but because it is my new acquisition... was kind. Was told to take it in for 'diagnostic'.. am at a loss. Will try locking with key on weekend though - thanks.

    horn button

Mine did the same thing a couple of years ago at an over night stop in Victoria.
It turned out that the cover on the steering wheel was slightly askew and as the night was cold the cover contracted and pushed down on the horn! Sharp knife som whittleing problem solvered.

I had something similar but was caused by water ingress...

It started off with the usual Disco problem of a leaking sunroof but on mine the water dripped onto the steering wheel. The water then got into the horn switch and set it off...

As a temporary fix, just pull the fuse (it's in the fuse box in the engine bay).

It probably felt left out and wanted attention I think you'll find.

When I move the cargo barrier to the forward position, one of the braces covers the rear sensor. Any passing car or truck will make it vibrate and set the alarm off. If you get a nonocom the movement sensor can be turn off.

This is probably the reason too; as it stays home most days until the weekend and gets antsy for sure!!!

Had the same problem with mine.....it is not uncommon. Another one of the joys of Land Rover ownership
