Maxi drive transfer case gears
Hi all
2000TD5 auto CDL connected
I am considering fitting an exchange transfer case with maxi drive gearing giving a 49% reduction. Has anyone fitted this or could give me an opinion on how practical it would be, I am still running all original axles, CV's etc. but in the Pilbara the slower the better on loose rock and shale so I would hope to be able to stay off the loud pedal. The other advantage is the box comes with a fix for the constant oil leaks.
Thanks
Kgee

The whine from the straight cut gears will be incredibly loud. Have a friend who went down this path. I think it would be a good mod if you plan to do rock crawling, but totally unnecessary in most other situations.

crawler gears snap drivelines with a lot more ease.
