    Bumper Driving Lights D2a?

    Hi ,

Does anyone know where I can get the D2a inset bumper driving lights from?

Those or aftermarket ones that are the same format etc.

Second hand would be preferable, want to install them into the Sahara bar I have put on my D2.

    Any info/help appreciated!

    Thanks
    JB

The factory light is a Fog Light pattern. Some of the bar manufacturers replace them with an aftermarket units because of the mounting arrangements usually it is a Driving Light Pattern. They then connect them to the fog circuit (on with low beam) which is of course illegal. I know East Coast Bars (ECB ) do this; they also sell the aftermarket lights – they did when we needed on anyway… Wire them up as driving lights (on with High)

Would have to disagree with the above.

I have the ECB bar on mine, with the lights. Yes - they are probably a generic after-market driving light rather than a true "fog" light (and I don't need "fog lights" where I live anyway) - but I can't see any point at all in wiring them up with Hi-beam.

These type of lights actually produce no useable light at all, so running them with your high beam does nothing other than consume more power.

Mine are wired to only operate with low beam, or with parkers only. With low beam, they are also useless and I never use them like that. The only time that I use these is as "running lights" in low light / overcast weather etc where it is not really necessary to have your headlights on for visibility, but you want to have some sort of lights on so that others can see you. I've got mine aimed down so as not to annoy oncoming traffic, and find them useful as "marker" lights (sometimes referred to as daylight running lights or driving lights by some people) in these low light conditions.

I'm afraid that I'm not a believer in driving everywhere with headlights on low beam all the time. I turn my headlights on when I need them to see things with.
    Cheers .........

My point is that they are illegal as a fog (low beam) light. Mine are not even working any more – stones have cracked both and they are so useful they will not repaired.
