Getting ready for its new tyres once the rims eventually arrive.
The tyre will sit a fair bit lower than the photo shows, I have room under the cut guards to comfortably run 35's.
If I decide not to run 35's I may drop the suspension slightly.

Bought with 130K on clock, always serviced and log books etc and very clean so pretty happy as this will be basis of the family touring machine being that it really wont get driven that much being a second vehicle. Really looked hard and inspected closely and appeared to have been a bit of a toorak tactor as underside showed nothing and no rust, scratches whatsoever and still fitted with original aftermarket bonnet protector and headlamp protectoes but yes for which I did pay above typical market price
From what I can ascertain :
- ARB side steps / Sliders supposably to help kids access
- BF GoodRidge ATF's
- Hella Driving lights on the OEM brush bar are about all it had.
I have
- changed all fluids (diff, oil, transfer, Auto) & filters (air and oil) since picking up and very happy magnets in crank case and diffs showed no swarf and all fuids seemed in good nick
- purchased an EGR kit and silicon hoses and cleaned MAF and MAP sensors
which with thanks to forum has been straight forward

First mod is a roof rack to cart camping gear and then maybe a 2 inch lift but I hear problems with the "Watsons linkage" i think so need ot researchas i have some money coming.
Then bull bar and winch then snorkel etc etc and the list goes and I think you get the idea but goal is not a hardcore 4wd but more a capabletourer
Hope to catch an event one day having been a lurker here as most questions I have are already answered and if you see me wave I am looking to get a forum sicker so those out there will recognise me on the road
The watts link is only really an issue above 2" or if you start dislocating springs which for your purposes is not really going to happen. It will start to make serious sounding clunks when it's worn but it's a pretty easy replacement bar tensioning the bolts back up.

Very unfortunate that my first photo posted will also be the last.
I'm in the UK, and my son back in QLD had a prang in my late 2001 D2, and insurance is writing it off @$15,000. I'm a bit disappointed.
I guess the main thing is is your son ok?...........are you getting another D2?

Another D2.. Hmm not thought that far ahead yet. This one has cost me a lot in maintenance. I had a 3.5l v8 1993 Disco previously in Saudi Arabia until 2001, then this after returning to Oz. I do like Discos. It was parked up for some time, as I've been in UK for 18 months. Maybe I'll buy a new[er?] one here and bring it back!. Currently enjoying spending time on my new Moto Guzzi Stelvio (2-wheels) - so not sure yet.
