Sorry Nick i just found this post, looks like you got it sorted. did you loose much coolant & did it get hot? could be time for a low coolant alarm.

I'd had my TD5 D2 for 3 days and I was checking the air filter. I bumped the hose as I was doing the clamps on the air box up and it split and pumped about a litre of coolant out. Luckily it was in the driveway and I didn't need to use the car. Each time I tried to clamp a bit of hose to the hard plastic line (as a temp fix) it just snapped off. I did the rubber hose replacement on it in the end.
