    Here's a tip.

A large generic plastic battery tray from Repco fits in the bin....... nice and easy. Grab a standard battery clamp with rods and once you bolt the tray to the floor, install battery and clamp it, it won't move.

After this you can do as many barrel rolls as Pedro wants

Deano I have a 55AH Fullriver AGM in the tray now, with 2 heat shields to protect it, I've just changed my battery for my up coming Cape trip, the previous battery was a 60ah Fullriver AGM and was there for 4 years without any problems.

Yes the heat shield is the most important thing, I have 2 on mine now.

This is a recent photo of my second battery, with the second heat shield, the stuff on the shield is paint, that was my attempt at making it look better as you can see it didn't work

I have since put a bigger gap between the battery and second shield and cleaned it up a bit to improve the look of it.

    Bigger gap wont do.
    Heat rizes to the top.
Get cool air from the front to the top of the battery.
Seal off the top of the general area and use some exhaust wrap for a better heat shield. Cover the top of battery together with the sheild closest to battery.
I am going to stage a dummy setup to show this.
    Whatch this space.

    Smile liked it!

I have been looking for a while for something like this , great!
I run a Waeco CF40 in the back, via a Waeco power plug direct from the normal battery. Leaving it on Voltage mode I , after making sure there were other 4b's nearby, just in case, left the fridge on over night, D2 started every time in the morning, for longer stays was given solar panel from son.
On a recent run from Bris-Inaminka-flinders Ranges-Geelong-Snowy's and home was great, over 4 weeks, BUT, will install unit the way you have ,as I have Auto and still worry!
    thanks, Tony.

When second batteries are fitted to Disco's, is there a reason why; when fitted in the rear that they are located on the passenger side?
