    D2 Alarm

    Hi guys.
    A guy at work recently bought a TD5 D2 2002.
This morning when he parked it and tried to lock it the alarm went off.Not just the beep beep beep,it changed to a constant REALLY loud blast. To shut it up he disconected the battery.
He admitted he has been having issues unlocking with the fob and uses the key to open then cancels the alarm with the fob.
I suggested it could be the key battery thats dead,he got a new one. This arvo he hooked up the battery same story.
I pulled the main horn relay as he had dis-connected the battery again.Got him to close the bonnet, lock the Disco, unlock again, open the bonnet re-fit relay.
    NORMALITY RESUMED
Did I just JAG the fix or is this the reset for the system when it thinks its being stolen???
The boys at work loved it,told him I would have a look at it but it will cost a carton.Easiest carton we have ever got out of him

i would say that its just reset it self...

its likely an electrical fault go through all of the wiring loom that you can access starting from the battery

I have noticed FM frequencies really mess around with the remote and security system on the D2

If i park my D2 in the carport and have my House Power Monitor running the remote wont work until i put it right up to the windshield WEIRED!! Also I have found one of the looms rubbing on the negative terminal of the battery. All this fixed the problems I was having with security…

Gday All,had this happen to mine about 2yrs ago the alarm even went off whilst driving..The only thing we could find was the neg lead to the battery was as tight as we could get it but would still wobble iif you tried to move it..replaced that and never had it happen again..
Beleive it or not the car still started and charged with that lead..May be worth a look.
    Cheers Ean
