I cleaned my inlet manifold a couple of weeks ago.. it's pretty yucky in there. If you havn't done so, clean your MAP sensor first with CO contact cleaner.
Gday All,this has been covered a million times but was amazed at how dirty the inside of me inlet manifold is..I guess 200k of egr residue is all in there.I know now why the oil gets so black, (use the same oil on the marine diesels at work and its half as dirty after 500hrs under full load).
Anyway looks like a manifold clean is next job on the list.

Where did you get the EGR removal kit?? I am trying to track one down, TIA Dazza
Triumph rover spares, only thing was I had to make the inlet manifold gasket as I damaged the old one removing it.They never supplied the rubber blanks but I just made them outta some rubber fuel return line with a screw in 1 end.(They could be in the bottom of the box of other stuff they sent me I was just to lazy to look)
Cheers Ean.
The better half drove the car today and informs me there's no noticeable difference after the EGR removal.Another job in the why did we do that basket....
Cheers Ean
you did it to save you're MAP sensor, the inlet valves, the rings and to prevent the potential loss of performance when the stupid things sticks open.

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
We are off down the kimberly's next week so I will get to drive it,so I will get an idea for myself.Im sure with new silicon hoses and the EGR removed there should be some increase in performance(although the old hoses seemed fine inside with no noticeable delamination)..Im sure the internals of the engine will certainly notice it..
