    The same thought crossed my mind...The same thing can be said about the oil pump bolt, you can buy them pre-loctited but L/R cant get every bolt in the pump right.The non-greasable uni's on the front prop shaft are another
    Maybe they dont expect cars to do the amount of kms that they do in Australia.

    Obviously LR/BMW thought plastic was OK (only used for assembly?) but after Ford got involved they started using steel, noting that if a non-early version head was removed, steel was to be used on re-assembly. Apparantly the steel ones don't fit the early heads, so I made some for my '99 using the shank of an 8mm drill bit.
