Obviously LR/BMW thought plastic was OK (only used for assembly?) but after Ford got involved they started using steel, noting that if a non-early version head was removed, steel was to be used on re-assembly. Apparantly the steel ones don't fit the early heads, so I made some for my '99 using the shank of an 8mm drill bit.
