The Cooper are a good tyre - my brother sells them, my mate has them on his D2 also...but better imo is the Maxxis Bravo AT...dont look as agressive but are excellent and the same price abouts.

For highway driving I don't think you can go past the Pirelli Scorpions...

i have the maxxis bravo AT on my D2, they are good on the highway and wet weather bitumen, but are hopeless in wet mud and grass. couple times i have been embaressed by sitting on flat wet grass and almost not being able to drive off.

I'll throw my 2bobs in,I had a set of cooper S/T,s and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.I got 42000ks out of them 1 went oval shape,1 sidewall collapsed and 1 sidewall staked..The warranty doesn't apply cause I live in the NT.
I just bought a set of Goodyear wranglers, but only done 2000ks so cant judge them yet.I wanted a set of BF goodrich A/t but there were none in Darwin. They seem IMHO to be about the best all round tyre, most of the guys in our 4wd club have them and seem happy
Tyres seem to be just as hard to choose as the winning Lotto numbers...everyone has there own ideas and system.

    Cheers Ean

I had the Pirelli AT in 265/70/16...good tyre but no good for towing. Good off road on the sand too.

The Maxis I have as a 245/75/16 - thinner than my previous Pirellis but nice and high - same overall diameter...not once have I been embarrassed by them on wet grass or surface mud up to 6-8 inches deep...they are of course not a muddie - these tyres are the tits for towing as they are heavy LT construction. They are also very very good on gravel - much better than the Pirelli AT. They also dont aquaplane line the Pirelli's but I must admit the sheer width of the Pirelli's was probably the culprit there. The P's were very good tyres apart from towing and heavy water.

The AT2 are a good tire also, but probably not any better off road than the Maxxis in my opinion...they might sling mud a LITTLE bit better.

    I wouldnt touch Coopers - 2cw

    Cheers

Done about 10,000km on a set of BFG All Terrain A/Ts. Not quite as quiet (there's also a little bit of low-frequency booming at highway speeds) or grippy on the bitumen as the now-defunct Michelins, but I'm quite happy with them. About 4000km has been on gravel/offroad with a trailer on the back, and the rear tyres have chipped a little bit. Front are as good as new.

The Maxis are about the same as the AT2. The standard size is 235/70/16 for the D2 with 16 inch mags. I like the exta height and load rating of the 75 profiles for towing and sand work (as well as general off road work).

    Cheers
