Dunno how you tell stiffness,:o,all i know is that they are D2 kings standard height not Heavy Duty & seem fine.
I will have a look tomorrow at the old ones & scrape more of the dirt off them & see if i can see a colour mark on them, they were original factory fit,i bought the car new.
I recon the new ones are slightly stiffer & higher, maybe 12mm than the old ones.
I havent loaded it up since i have had the new ones, but will next week as we leave on Friday hopefully
Iknow this doesnt help you,but the new fronts are much stiffer than the old ones & brought it up around 60-70mm,new ones are standard D2 kings. The old ones had sagged badly.
All i could find on them was a bit of grey or white paint on one of the end coils .Also one also had a bit of orange paint on it as well, the other had yellow paint, that is probably left or right.
as for the white or grey paint ,i dunno, but someone may chime in with a bit more knowledge.....
Well, after a bit of a test this weekend - I'm afraid all you guys are right... too soft.
At least I have the option to swap the springs, so I'm off to Les Richmond later in the week.
I'll let you know how I go.
Better to work it out here than half way around the trip I guess ..
Thanks guys.

The KRRR's are about 240-270lb/in. They are about the lightest shelf springs for a D2.
For that setup I also like JC's rates of 300-340lb/in. Its pretty much on the money for rears in the D2. ARB do one that is specc'd up to this exactly and its also the same rate that the Lovells 4" and Rovertym springs are.
Discowhite, they were the marks on the OE ones, see my first post.
Slunnie, hope mine aren't too soft as well,i recon they are stiffer than the OE ones.Kings also have a HD coil standard height for the D2.
Had a look on their web site, but cant see an exact rating.
Suppose i will find out on Thursday when i load it up.
Hi Scarry, aftermarket ones will probably be stiffer than OE, the OE look pretty light, but they also don't run many winds. The King data probably wont be on their website, Lovells rate tested a set for me. I'm not sure what the other King springs are like though except the King KRFR ones for the D2 which are 190lb/in
I've got rear Kings in my D2, but they're powder coated yellow, inkjet labelled with KRxx etc and progressively coiled. These are black and linear coiled.
