Both , they are the variable rates which tell you it will change from 240 to 300lb/in somewhere in its travel. Its doesn't give the transition point though which can be important. ie when I commented on these springs testing up at 240-270lb/in they were the 2 spring rates from that spring.
Ok, I now have the LRA 320lb 's in the rear... feels good.
I'll give it a test with the trailer on the week end and let you know. But I think with all the help here.... the result is looking pretty good.
Cheers, Mark
Well, both Slunnie & JC were right, those Kings are too soft,i dont recon they are any better than the OEM coils.I only just got away with them on the cape trip, didnt have time to change them before i went.
There was only two of us & i also had all the rear seats out,we were pretty lightly loaded.
If i had a couple of kids & some extra weight,we would have been in trouble.
Bytemark, how did you go,& what coils do you have in the front. Also does the car sit up higher in the rear, empty?Mine seems to sit pretty level with a full tank of fuel.I am happy with the standard kings for the front, but before i do another long trip i may change the rears.
MR did say there is a standard height HD king available for the rear, but cant see it on their web site, havent had time to speak to them yet.
G'day Paul,
I'll tell you in a couple of weeks if I got it right .
The fronts are LRA 180lb and the rears are now 320's. ( I will be pulling my camper which puts around 90 KG on the ball when fully loaded).
Without the trailer - yes the ar$e end sits up.. with the trailer - nice and level. ( But I'll be putting the airbags back in once home again - I'll just keep the springs for remote trips.)
I've done some local stuff with the trailer on - and it looks pretty good.
I leave Wednesday morning for an 8500 Km round trip.. so fingers crossed hey!
The help from Slunnie, JC and others definitely has helped - the 220's would have been way too soft.
I'll let you know how I go...
Mark
One thing i forgot to ask,is the ride a fair bit harsher with the 320's,than with the softer one's,unloaded.
Thanks in advance
Wheres your lower spring retainer plates? Didnt see any in the pics ;)
