    Dobinsons Lifted Coils

    G/Day all....

I have just ordered Dobinsons 2 inch lift coils & Lovells shocks from SuspensionStuff...for my 03 Disco..
Im led to believe that Between the Lovells kit & Dobinsons kit ,you do get more lift with the Dobinsons...
I know there is a heap of you guys running this kit...
Did you take Measurements before & after the install...If so how much lift did you achieve with this kit... & Any Photo's

Any advice on installing these coils.. my Disco has ace fitted...
i have fitted lifted coils in my d1 the d2 looks the same? is there anything else i need before i attack this .....
    Thanks Smally.

    Hi there Small one,

Essentially the same as fitting them to a D1, except for the shock mounts as they are different orientation to D1. It is easier to remove the front brake hose clamps from the lower front spring plates to get the springs etc in without damaging the brake hose. Rear shock bolts upper and lower take an 18mm ring spanner...(Why isnt it 17, or 19mm?????)

I waved at you on the Midway point causeway on Sunday, but I was in the Lexus so you wouldn't have seen me...lesser vehicle and all

Any Q's just give me a call

What JC said. I got a solid 50mm from this exact set up, so absolutely no complaints here. Whike your doing the job I would definitely check the amount of drop you get on the front axle once the springs and shocks are in. You want to see wether the front prop shaft drops on to the front cross member at full extension. If so, you could consider spacers.

    cheers

Depends. There are a couple of variations you can get, relating to the heavy duty or standard coils, also, do you have a bull bar on?

I got HD fronts, ready for bullbar later on, and Standard on the rear. The cra still sits as normal with a slightly higher rear. If I actually had the bull bar on you could assume it would settle just a touch in the front.

However you think about it, I reckon it still looks good.

You can check some picks in my albums.

    cheers

    Nice Looking Disco James.....

    Nick i ordered ....(i Think) 190lb front & 240lb rear..
i was considering adding 20mm spacers under the rear springs....when fitting the kit...?
might see how it looks first... then make a decision about fitting spacers....
i will check out your album....
    cheers smally....

I've fitted the same setup on my D2 recently, certainly has given a decent amount of lift, although i didn't measure so can't tell you exactly how much... Plus mine was sagging really badly on one side at the front before anyway so the measurments would have been all over the place for the "before"...

It sits slightly higher at the front than the rear at the moment with the bullbar but no winch.
