    Dumbing down the electronics?

Hello All, Ive just had the cranking battery die on my TD5 Disco and a week later the battery in the remote key die also. Whilst getting these replaced and home again I began wondering if it is possible to dumb down the security system and associated electronics on the TD5.

For instance, can I end up with central locking (no remote) but no security system or immobiliser that hopefully bypasses all of the BS electronics of the S2 Disco.....

To put it simply, I want something simple and reliable.....
    any thoughts?

    cheers

    Hi Roscoe,

I'm pretty sure you can do all of this with testbook (dealer), autologic, Rovacom software. There are a few members with these or access to these, or likewise a LR specialist or dealer.

    Check out this post:

It's how to bypass the spider in a Disco 1, but it is pretty detailed and might give you some ideas on how to do it on your TD5.

I have found in most Disco 1's depending on security settings, that if you unlock the car with the EKA code and only re-lock it with the key you do not need the remote.
