Hi lift mounted on STD rear bumper

I would like some opinions please.
I want to mount a Hi Lift Jack on the standard rear bumper of my D2.
The same way the jack is mounted on a defender. ie. Horizontal righ agains the bumper.
Will the GRP insert be up to the job or wil it crack?
I am not keen on roof racks so dont want to mount it there.
The rear door will be reserved for spade and axe.

    Cheers

If your still going with this idea (Yes I saw the pics) could you make a bracket that fits in the sleaves and bolt the jack to it?
Just pin them in and remove when you need it.
    Clearance from tow ball?
Clearance from legs when in back door?

Just more overhang and decreased departure angle.

    Cheers.

    Thanks for your idea.
I am not planning to use the tow bar in the near futute but at the moment it only serves as a tank guard on steep departures.
I drew up a Z bracket that bolts to the two upper sets of towbar bolts and comes up to behind the bumper.
Your idea of the pin brackets seems to be easier to build.
Doubt departure angle will be a problem as the tow bar will be the limitng factor.
