CDL would be useful, specially on sand.

    Cheers,

I'm amased at the life span of the original Michillens .... do they still make this or a similar tyre?

and what would a CDL cost me?

    Thanks

Yours should have all the internals. big saving there.

If you're a bit handy, you could possibly rig up some sort of actuator yourself. It's just got to turn a nut a few degrees and back.

I got mine through MR Automotive, think mine cost around $400 fitted. It adds a second lever beside the hi-lo selector.

Thanks Waz .... will it really make a big difference in sand?

It will shine in the sand! Especially because you will be able to run without the traction control on. But not just the sand. It's cuts the load on the TC by 70-80% on rocks and ruts as well.

Also, if you break an axle, you will be able to get home with the CDL. If you break an axle with TC, you're stuck.

This also means your ABS modulator and brakes will last longer.

Thanx for reminding me Graeme! I was just going to get it checked at the next service, however, I've just now sent off an email to Alto / Trivett Alexandria and also Graeme Cooper (they did the very last service at 70000kms). I hope they can provide me with the info I need.

    Cheers
