    Three Amigos

Just had the problem fixed under warranty, the problem was the ABS shuttlevalve, so touch wood we won't see that problem again. I don't know the exact cost, I think the replacement was around $1000.00.

    Three Amigos forever

My 2000 Disco has had the three Amigos come on every few months for the last 6 years. Since I got the Nanocom I just reset it. It seems to come on when I am towing a heavy load and braking while turning at very low speed. I have kind of got used to it.

I suspect that the shuttle valve in ABS block is to fault.
There is a cheap upgrade kit available from UK to solve this.
I had two RHS ABS wheel sensors replaced under warranty before LR dealer told me I was up for ABS modulator replacement after warranty expired ($3.5K)
The UK kit fixed problem & I now have 185K on my 2000 TD5 without any more ABS issues. Sometimes the ABS wiring harness develops faults that can be bypassed with external wiring as I have done when one of my rear ABS sensors was supposedly faulty. If you use your Disco in heavy offroad conditions, as I do on Stradbroke island regularly, you have to expect that sensitive electronics will suffer & require replacement.

You can buy the Shuttle Valve repair kits locally

Its only $120 and it fixes the 3 Amigoes in about 90% of cases.

If you search the forum there will be heaps of pages which will lead you to the best solution.

That is the same sensor that failed on mine... some one else (discovery auto in perth) picked it up 3 years before it actually failed. (my dealer failed to pick it up!!)

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum.

I have made a "write-up" on repairing the faulty issues within the ABS Modulator...

I know there are some instructions floating around but this one is mine...
