    Changing a headlamp bulb

Hi Hopefully I have posted this on the correct forum.

I have a D2 Classisc which comes with a Land Rover front Bull Bar (rubber type) which also has a couple of spot lights fitted.

One of my dipped headlamp bulbs has blown and I need to change it. I am having real trouble in gaining access to the headlamp assembly. I don't seem to be able to work out how to remove the bull bar assembly so that I can remove the front grill.

I have taken off the front removable covers which give me access to two front bolts. I have noticed two similar side panels which don't seem to want to be removed and so before I use too much brute force I thought I would ask on here for the solution

    Any ideas?

    Simon

Do you mean the headlights or the little bumper bar lights???

If its the headlights then you just unclip the cover which sits under the bonnet and is over the headlight assemblies. The stick your hand down behind the headlights and rotate the headlight retainers which will allows the unit to come out. Then remove the rubber light boot and unclip the headlight globe for replacement.

Why are you taking the bumperbar and grill out?
    Cheers

    Hi Slunnie,

I have the 2003 model where I can't access the headlight covers from the back I have to take off the grill and then take out the whole headlight assembly. The problem I had was that the LR nudge bar was blocking access to the screws.

Anyway I have been able to change the bulbs with a bit of dexterity with the fat fingers and pushing past trim etc.

I am still interested to know how to remove the LR nudge bar (Rubbery type) as it does make the car ugly.

If its the same as the early D2's and their nancy boy nudge bars, then you need to remove the whole bumper, and access the two bolts holding the nudge bar on from the back of said bumper.

    cheers
