Bouncing Dash On Corrugations
I spent an extended time in the passenger seat of the Disco on a recent trip bush, and noticed for the first time that on badly corrugated roads the passenger side of the dash seems to move up and down quite a lot. The whole assembly around the air bag and Aircon vents seem kind of sprung... and wobbles. IS THIS BAD???
Usually I am the driver in these situations and Mrs has never thought to bring it to my attention!

Bouncing Dash
Mate on a recent trip to Cape York I thought the whole lot was going to fall out but it didn't.When I got back on the bitumen ( after 2000 k's of corrugations) everything was fine. I have a video of Kedron Caravans doing the Kimberley in a cruiser and in that the radio and part of the dash did fall out. So you are lucky to be in a Landy they look like they want to fall out but they don't.

Think it must be common, on our Kimberley trip I was sure the Dash was going to end up on our lap.The noises it made were terrible, but considering that trailers lost tail gates, a new 200series cruiser went into limp mode, and plenty of people turned back, I dont blame it for getting a rattle up.If you find something that stops it please let me know, as were doing the Gunbarrel next year and the corrigations are meant to be skeleton rattling.( think this means worse than bone jarring)
Cheers Ean

OK, reassuring posts thanks. We took all the coins and small items out of the ash tray and coin holder and stuffed a scarf into the console which made it a much quieter experience!
It's quite a different experience in the Passenger seat! I noticed how much my wife thrashes the D2 though. I can gently sail it along the highway and use about 15l/100 (32" tyres help), she hammers it and floors the pedal - she loves the power after her roller skate hatchback! I always wondered why she was getting half my mileage on LPG though!
