SLS sensor problem?
Hi
I have a 2001 Discovery 2 ACE and SLS
I am having a problem with one side of the rear dropping to its bump stop when I have a load in the back.
Under normal conditions it is fine only when I have weight in the back,as soon as I start it it levels off and then no problems.
I have checked both bags with soapy water and found nothing, could this mean the sensor is faulty??
I am orderind a ABS sensor from the UK next week and could easily add a rear SLS sensor for about $50 au.
Thanks in advance
Steve

Hi steve. Check out the Good Oil D2 sagging air-bag suspension section for a ton of info.
Because it stays fine when you have no load. It is most likely a bag leaking around the fold where you cant see. If it was a sensor it would be steadily under or over inflated but not on its stops.
While your compressor may be old it will not be that either as the car would not pump back up at all.
The solenoid control valves can get dirt in the seats and allow a slow deflation over a few days. I doubt you have this.
My bet would be the bags.
cheers

Ditto the above. Mine Seemed ok as well, I jumped in the back one day and I could hear a hissing sound & it was the bag leaking. Must have moved it on a certain angle which caused the bag to leak. Same thong happened when I parked it on an angle. I wouldn't think it would be a sensor. Any issues that have been on bags going down have been a leaking bag & not sensors.

Thanks
Thanks for that guys it just seems strange how it goes down so quick, one minute it is okay then turn my back and it is down.
Anway I will hit it again wth soapy water this weekend.
I do have a set of new bags I got off ebay for spares I may as well put them on and then check to others for leaks off the car if possible
Thanks again
Steve
