cheers phil
Haven't had a chance to try someone else's yet because the only other person I now with a Disco has a faulty one on his too. Probably stretching the freindship here but is there anyone in the Berwick area who is willing to let me try their's to confirm that mine is faulty. There's a six pack in this
i'll have a spare one when mine turns up, not really sure if its a problem with the MAF, but its the cheapest place i can think of to start, so when i get it and if it makes a diff, then my old one is in the bin, if it doenst make a diff, then i got a decent 2nd hand one spare.
I have read that you can measure the resistance across PINs 1 and 3 but I am not sure of what values are within tolerance...
I'm up at Emerald. PM if you want.
Thanks for the offer but i have ordered one, cheers..
Ordered one of these LAND ROVER TD5 AIR FLOW SENSOR MAF 5WK9607 PROMO PRICE* - eBay, Land Rover, Car Parts, Vehicle Parts Accessories. (end time 24-Nov-09 20:27:38 AEDST) and it got it about 2 weeks later. Excited to see it, went down to the car park and installed it. Went for a drive and I noticed it was surging even worse. 1 km down the road it stopped surging and went ok. The next day the same thing. Took it off and had a good look at it. Normally there are two wires(elements what ever the term is), well this one only had one and it looks like one of them had never been soldared in. I think it may have detected it as a dud and used the default settings. I'll borrow my mates Nancom when he gets back from overseas to see if it left any faults behind. Returing it and getting them to send another one.
Hi there,
I had a similar problem with MAF on my v8 2001. Have the codes read, if MAF is broken there will be a fault code registered. I was strongly advised by my LR mechanic to buy LR genuine MAF as the aftermarket ones brake frequently. I ordered it from UK - price including postage was almost the same I would pay here in Australia for aftermarket.

I shouldn't have wasted my time and money. For $260 I should have just bought a genuine locally. Shyt happens. If the one they resend is ok I'll live with it, othewise I'll just buy one locally.
