I found the same think when I was looking for an ARB Commercial Bar for my D2 about 5 months back. Was told by an ARB store that they were no longer available.

Called Phil at TRS in SA got a brand new badged one for about 2/3 of the price that ARB said they used to sell for. Go figure, but I'm the winner.

Give Phil a call and see if he can help.

    Phil,

Does that bar require new springs on the front to prevent sagging?

    Cheers!

If you fit a winch, definitely, otherwise should be OK.

Even without a winch you need to upgrade the springs. Just adding a 35kg bar will affect the front springs and they will sag. 1st upgrade for a D2 being used off road should be a 2" spring lift closely followed by larger tyres.

Its funny how we have different views about these things. I did Bar and tyres (31 inch instead of the stock 29.5) and have not done springs. Having said that about 5 years ago Rover put new front ones in (I didnt quite have the bar on yet) because it sagged in the front, so maybe the new ones are better cause it hasnt sagged with the TJM steel winch bar - sans winch).

    See attached pic.

It gets a lift from the tyres. I have found it to be very good with that extra clearance and 75 series tyres between the rocks and rim.

    Cheers

Very easy to check the sag caused by a bull bar - measure the compressed length of the front springs before fitment and again after - you'll find a measurable difference. When LR designed the front springs they did not take into account having an additional 35+kg hanging off the front of the vehicle. You will also find that without the spring lift you will bottom out on the bump stops much more easily.

    Cheers,

    Franz
