    D2 v8 recovery gear

Well, $250 out and 7 days later, I now own a tiny box that removes the 3 amigos, utterly sick of them when off rd. One squeal from a brake and loss of traction control, I was over it. All you do is plug in wait 30 sec's and remove

Money is spent now, bet the brakes wont squeal now

I have heard of another way to temporarily disable the ABS system which is built into the D2 & therefore completely free of charge.
I have yet to test it out so I can't confirm if it works or not.

It does not involve bridging anything. It's supposed to be a 'secret' factory feature that needs a particular sequence of events to activate it. It could be well known in D2 circles but I can't say I've heard of it before.

Not sure I follow your discussion as to whether you are saying this product turns the ABS off or the 3 amigoes turns the ABS off.

But, to clarify things from wot I know and mainly for anyone else here, TC, HDC, ABS warning lights staying on (aka 3 amigos) will disable those three systems but the car will still be perfectly drivable under normal/road condition and lose what you need ie ABS on road and TC & HDC off road when you need it most. Bummer!

I have had a look at that product so add some clarity that it does not disable anything, certainly not the ABS, but merely store the fault codes and reset the SLABS ECU to re-enable those systems.

Generally a local mechanic with rovacom, nanocom etc can do same for $50, but where is he when you're in the Vic High Country on day 3 of your camp!

    Good buy I reckon.

    Scott.
Do you refer to starting the D2 with CDL engaged to turn ABS/TC off??
Its a pain when you install your own CDL acuator,if you wish to retain TC with CDL in you must unlock the CDL before turning it off.Not real handy when you want it to stay on as it wont always unlock whilst the driveline is loaded up.A stall doesnt trip it,have to key off to disable TC/ABS.
Would be interested inhearing if there is another built in method.
Since being able to lock the CDL I have gained a HEAP more respect for the TC system.
    Thanks
