If it contiinued to drive normally then I would say transmission wind up.
Hi All
Just had agreat weekend up at Wonnangatta with Lrocv and Jeep owner's combined trip.
In via Harry Shepherds tk , did a day trip up Hernes Spur tk and down Wombat Spur.
Went out on Monday via Zeka Spur , Mt Howitt road and across to King Billy via Bluff track etc to Sheep yard flat.
My question is this.
My 2004 TD5 Auto seemed to exhibit the following.
When descending on a tight left hand switchback with the Diff lock engaged in Low range , every now and then the left rear made a noise/ bang as if the wheel had dropped into a hole or as if it was releasing wind up?
Any ideas?
Pete

Do you run coil or air springs?
If coils, it could simply be one for the springs moving around.

Standard air bags on the D2
cracked chassis directly above the air bag mount, seen it on sprung D2's couldnt see why it wouldnt happen on an SLS D2.

Diff planetary gears.CDL increases the force through the diff by a fair bit when its locked and you are turning.
