    SLS ACE 2" LIFT

Instead of replacing shockers and front springs when doing a 2" lift why can't you just install spacers as marketed here:

    http://www.toddcosuspensions.com/noname7.html

I expect there must be reasons why you must change them (even if your existing ones are okay), but what are they?

    Pros and cons anyone?

    Cheers,
    biggin.

Because spacers in Australia are illegal, unless it's a factory fitment.

    Thanks Baz.
Certainly brings this thread to quick end.
It was my understanding that the lift kits in Oz have spacers under the airbags.

Yes they do, I'm not sure about airbags, but I know you can't do spring spacers to give a lift.

Baz are you sure? Spacers are pretty commonly fitted. Ive never seen any publication that states this.
    Cheers

When I was getting my first lift on the Disco (OME), I asked about spacers as they seemed a cheaper alternative and was told they were illegal, by a 4WD shop in Taren Pt.

I asked because ARB supply a spacer with the OME kit to even out the pass & driver side because the drivers side spring is higher and the spacer evens it out.

I never looked into it I just took his word for it, maybe Biggin should ask someone else besides me
    Cheers Baz.

Thanks for the comments below guys but I'm still none the wiser.
Has anyone had a go at installing this (or similar). It could get me by with my bigger tyres until I can put in a real lift.

Theres a few guys on here that have SLS spacers made by "Tombie" (I think)

Dont know about the Aussie rules, but the SLS spacers def work, but I would recommend combing those if you use them with a set of proper lifted front springs not spacers.

I have been e-mailing Toddco to send me an invoice for some time, he only replied once, but that was to a question I had, still waiting at the mo, its like they don't want your business......
