    NOT HAPPY

When out today with my wife, 2 year old son and my new 5 day old daugther to the shop to do a few thing all was well, then went to start the 2002 discovery to come home and the key would not move. Walked away before I did something I mite regret came back about 30 mins late and still the key would not move.

Walked home about 25 mins in the nice hot darwin sun got the other car and the tool box. Left the very happy wife and kids at the shop.

Got back pulled starter system out lucky I new how to do it as this has happened before took about 20 mins but wife could drive the car home starting the car with a screw driver.

Taken the barrel of to a lock smith hope this is not going to cost to much

Luck I my wife loves the landrover as much as I do least I can still smile

Can you post how much it cost please. My wife has about a kilo of crap hanging off her keys, but wont listen to me about the cost of replacement.

Did you try to fix this last time?

A locksmith should only charge about $50-75 to strip the lock down & sort out the wafers if it's off the car already.

My key would not work for me a short time ago.
I had read stories about the barrel failing and was expecting the worst, but as it happens with my job I carry a lot of tools and fixit things with me. So I got out the graffite and gave the barrel a burst.
Worked like a charm and hasn't mis behaved since.
