    Fuel Leak

When i fill up my tank to completely full, fuel (diesel) is dripping down onto my rear mudflap and onto the ground. When I check it, it seems to be a puddle of about 5-8cms. After about 100kms of driving ( and using fuel) it stops. Anyone else had a similar problem?

I do but only when, after the bowser clicks off and I try to round to the nearest dollar, I was told that any fuel you put in after the first click is wasted because it either spills out of the overflow, which I think is what you're finding, or it evaporates before the motor uses enough fuel to get the tank level down bolow the overflow point. I was told that by my employer at the servo I worked at for about 6 years. I now don't attempt to put anymore fuel in past the first click and haven't had a problem.
    Hope I was helpful

I routinely fill mine past the first "click" - it takes up to 10 litres more if you fill to the top - the only time I've seen a leak was when the "overflow" hose was perished around the clamp at the join to the filler. Solution was to get some 19mm rubber fuel hose and a hose joiner to replace the perished hose end rather than remove the tank to replace the whole hose.

No leaks after I did that even when filled to the top.

    regards

I regularly fill mine to the brim ... 8-9 litres past 1st click off. Never leaked.

Look for a broken breather/air return line from the tank to the filler neck ... the overflow does not vent to atmosphere! The tank should be capable of being pressurized ...

My Rangie is doing exactly this at the moment. I have found the leak where the pickup pipe passes through the wall of the tank. A bit of metal repair putty should fix it up in my case.
