    ARB bumper D1 on D2

    Just a quickie guys,

Anyone know or seen or tried to fit a Disco 1 ARB bumper onto a Disco 2 ?

I would assume its "similar", but not 100% on it ?

    Cheers

Matman on here has done it.
No major hacking or anything, just abit of trimming and modding to the bar, (nothing an angle grinder couldn't fix)

Not to sure about this in the UK, but here is the legal side of it in Australia.

Just remember that even though it is possible to fit the D1 bullbar, I dont think you legally can in Australia due to the Australian Design Rules.

ARB will only certify there bars for the model they are intended and any vehicle with airbags requires an air bag compliant bar.

ARB wont even put a delux winch bar for the later model D2 on my 2002 model (as they have not tested on this vehicle).

It is probably not something that you would ever get pulled up on, although if the D1 bar somehow interfered with the operation of the airbags on the D2 and caused an injury you could be the one liable.

If anyone has further information to this let us know.

But nothing changed between the models lol, are they a Bit "fussy" lol.....

It may not even come to it, just seen a D1 with an ARB on it over here, and thought if it was cheap enough would buy it, "nick" the bumper, fit a standard one back on and sell it on again.

Although looking at ARB's in the US and "trying" to get one shipped via my companys Aircraft......

It can be done, here is my car before I picked up the later bar

The main thing I found was it didn't sit nicely around the grill and the sides stuck out into the wheel arch.

Bar is now on Dullbirds car
