Thread: SNORKEL for a d2

Rain does not go down the snorkel on a safari, its has "drains" built into the head........

A snorkel needs to be sealed "completely" from top to bottom, or its just not worth bothering with one, when your engine is under water it will find the smallest place to draw in air, and if theres holes the water will come to.

Once the snorkel is installed you should be able to stall the engine by covering the head, if it doesn't stall you have a leak somewhere and its a good idea to go find it before you go wading (you will hear it sucking where the leak is). "if" your just fitting the snorkel for "dust" issues, then probably not so much of a worry, but the choice is yours.
