are you loosening any of the brakelines?
Hi Guys., thought I would tackle changing the switch on the ABS modualtor, before I go down the track of pulling the whole thing out and doing the soldering etc. See if the switch fixes things or not.
Anyway, silly question, but would rather ask than later regret. If I am not removing the ABS modulator, just loosening it to get underneath to the switch, do I need to still bleed the brakes? Will any fluid come out?
From what I can see it's a No, however would rather check first.
Thanks
JB
are you loosening any of the brakelines?
Hi Sprint, just doing it now, Not unbolting any of them, just removing them out of their plastic clips along the firewall etc so when I slightly lift the modulator I don't bend the lines?
OK, took the punt, have changed over the switch. Old one when removed tested fine on the metre, so will see how it goes. Next step removal of the side of the modulator.
Cheers
if youre not breaking any of the seals or joins in the breaklines, there should be no reason to bleed the system
Have you read over this? There is another way to fix the SVS electrical failure...

Guys,
that's the website instructions I follwed.
Have trailed the Good Oil with plenty of print outs ready to go. Just wanted to take a step by step approach. I have a spare modulator that I will do the solder on etc ready to then switch over with the one in the D2 at the moment. My biggest issue is the bleeding of the brakes, this is something I am ****house at. LR specialst want to charge me anywhere between $100-$160 to install the modulator I have with brake bleed etc.
If the spare modulator option does not work then the refurbished ebay option is next, I have made a few posts on it before.
Out of interest I cannot find the post where one of the boys not only soldered the front internal pin but removed the black backing and did the rear of it as wellif that makes sense.
Urban Panzer if I recall you were also on this particular post?
Cheers
JB
using the ABS to powerbleed is not only easy,,
it gives a great pedal!
LR will tell you otherwise.
