td5 wont start after installing dual battery controller

    td5 Auto Classic
Spent a few hours today installing ARB dual battery tray - has to bend the mudguard a little to get the bolt holes to line up (seems to be a common thing based on posts I've seen on the forum) - otherwise went in fine
Then went about installing the Piranha DBE 180S, other than the decision about where to mount the controller and the fiddle of running the cabling around the engine, did not think anything was amiss.
Have not bought the 2nd battery yet, but connected the main battery to the controller and wired in the DBM3d digital battery monitor. All seemed fine, the battery monitor gives a reading of 12.8V on the main and nothing on the aux (as expected).

Now when I turn the ignition, the hazard kights come on and stay on no matter what I do and the immobiliser seems to be on as well as the engine will turn over when I turn the key but won't start.

    Any ideas?

    Whats your cranking voltage?
I read somewhere that the ECU low voltage mark is 11.2v.
    Cranks but ECU shuts down.

Can some one confirm this for us, thanks.
    Cheers, Kyle

Sounds like your inertial switch has tripped. For some reason they will do this on the odd accassion after tinkering around the battery. It is on the Pax firewall, just push down on the top and you will hear it click to reset.

    Cheers.

Concur, That's what happened when I installed my ARB tray after giving it a "whack" to align the tray's bottom mounting bracket.

thanks strangy and pazk - thats exactly what it was
had thoughts of replacing the computer etc. so very relieved that this has solved the problem.

Incidentally found two interesting possibles when I googled it:
    (i) issue with the key code resetting itself can cause a similar issue
(ii) the BCU could have become dislodged from the whacking

    Thanks again
