After it sitting in the workshop for the past month I finally fitted Suspension stuff 2" lift to my 02 TD5 Disco with coil only suspesion.
A quick history on the machine is it has been running the stock suspension since new (200k on the odometer)and has an ARB bull bar and winch with steel cable, and home made rock sliders, otherwise it is a stock vehicle running stock size tyres.
I order springs with hard ride, and said I had a drawer system in back and additional 50kg of gear in back as I plan on adding a rear bar down the track.
It took me about 8hrs from start to finish including getting everything ready, lunch break, packing up and a short test drive. I had to purchase a 18 and 21mm (for spring compressors) spanners, spring compressors and a floor jack for the job (any excuse to buy tools). The other tools used were a pair od scissors for cutting the bands around the shockers, a 1/2" drive ratchet, a 13mm spanner and bottle jack and the wrench for removing the wheeel nuts. Overall a fairly easy job and the spring compressors came in real handy when working by yourself. One trick to pass on is when you are removing the coil springs jack the axle up on the side you are working on in order to compress the spring, saving a bit of spanner time with the spring compressors.
I thought I would pass on some before and after numbers for those that may be considering such a lift.
My vehicle looks level now compared to the nose down stance it had in the past.
The coil length is free lenght out of vehicle.
Wheel arch height was measured from the bottom of rim to bottom edge of wheel arch, but I forgot to measure the front prior to fitting.

LR Stock After 2" suspension installed
Coil Length Front 37cm tall 37cm tall
Rear 39cm 43.5cm
Wheel arch height Front 75cm
Rear 69.5cm 75cm
Bull bar lowest point 35cm 41.5cm
Rock slider height 35.5cm 41cm
Front X member 21.5cm 28.5cm
Transmission X member 26cm 32cm
Roof Bar Height 193cm 199.5cm
Aproach Angle 25 degrees 28.5degrees
Departure angle 27 degrees 29 degrees.

I now need to make a spacer for the front cross member and maybe look at lowering the brake line bracket at the rear as these seem to be almost at their limit on full droop.
On Monday I am getting a set of Maxxis Bravos fitted and a wheel alignment. Since I due a bit of towing and It spends most of its time on the bitumen I am going with a set of 245/75 16s for now.
When I took it for a quick test drive I went down a fairly corregated road and it tracked very straight and did not bounce around at all and felt very composed and smooth riding. I look forward to my next drive in the bush to give it a real test.
I will recheck the numbers in a month or two to see if it settles over that time.
