How do i clean the ECU

I have read most of the threads re the ECU and oil in the injector harness, which i now have a issue with, my question is can or has anyone tried to clean the ECU with CRC's CO CONTACT CLEANER ?, it is designed for precision electronic equipment and computers, as i am having a new harness fitted in a few days i thought i would ask around for advise, the alternitive is to let it drain over night but it would still have an oily residue on the circute board.

    regards simon

There should not be any oil inside the ECU, it is a sealed unit.

Use th CO cleaner to clean the external plugs if there is oil present.

It is possible – although not common to have oil in the ECU, mine had so much it was dripping out (so much for the sealed theory). If your harness is really bad it will capillary in through the pins, but you will have a lot of oil at the plug.

Urban Panzer has a thread (I think it was him) on cleaning this, see if I can find it.

Good write up by Mr Panzer - this is the same as what I had some moons ago.
