I have lost my bumperettes twice with the standard plastic bumper when it has caught and flexed!
I have previously had one of the HD steel rear bars. I was very happy with the fit and quality. I reversed into a bollard and the bar took the impact without any damage (bollard was knocked out of the ground ripping out the dynabolts and the concrete - I imagine it wasn't in overly well to begin with).
I got rid of it though as the factory reverse sensors weren't compatible with it (being electro-magnetic the steel sets them off). The local car modification shop here told me the other day that they now have rubber bodied sensors which are compatible with the steel bars. I have since purchased a new rear bar and intend to get them to fit a reverse sensor kit.
On a recent trip I found that even with my 3" suspension lift and 33" tyres, my vehicle, both front and rear, contacted when a 2012 Defender 90 in standard trim did not. So hopefully the better angle of the HD rear bar will help somewhat. Might be time for 35" tyres soon too...
