    Talking Safari snorkel

Well its' fitted--- the template --- works after a fashion, as long as you make all the holes a little bigger than required the metal locator thingamigig does do it's job used a stainless self tapper to bring it up to the panel with lots of sikkaflex as there are weld knobs preventing a flush fit. The fumes from the sikka and turps in the shed---well who needs a beer--- if anyone needs the templates I'll keep both. Now to see how well it keeps out the dust[after the wet] has anyone thought of using a piece of shadecloth under grill of intake? Maybe even womens stocking material?

While you are at it Greg pull your airbox off and seal any holes off in the bottom. Some have them.

Mine has the hole in the bottom. When I got my car, it already had the snorkel on, does anyone know why they wouldn't have sealed this up? Is it to let any water out that comes through the mouth of the snorkel? Should I seal it up to keep the rain water in???? Can see why it needs to be sealed or should it be left unsealed to let water in when I do a river crossing?????

Forgot to mention Greg, you don't get that many insects down there although I suppose it depends where you live. I haven't bothered with anything.

Seal up the dump valve and the small hole in the bottom of the airbox, if not its not watertight, even after doing that the flexi pipe between the wing moulding and the airbox is breathable and not water proof, its a good idea to cover that as well. I used a self almalgamating tape for that.
