sounds a mite high to me.

I could just about justify charging $600 for a standard fuilds and filter service on a landy with new hoses.

you dont need to go OEM hoses you can get them manufactured by someone like pirtek they're nothing special.

Bilgola is on the Nthn Beaches of Sydney. Near Avalon.
I to thought it was expensive.
    There's a mob called British and Swedish that I've used before. It's 2004 TD5.
It's a bit tricky as it's a tow job but with the very helpful feedback so far - it seems I'll be moving it.
Cheers everyone. I bloody love this forum.

if that includes the recovery of the vehicle thats a different story and unless hes only recovering it from the carpark next door might be worth the money

lets say I do the job drive in drive out for $600. (It'd be cheaper but lets just say)

for me to go and get a vehicle thats say 60Km away using a car trailer.

The nearest place for me to hire a car trailer is 10 minutes away.
Im pretty good at hooking up their trailer it takes 10 minutes to get it to the point that all im waitng for is the key to the padlock and the adaptor for the lights
It usually takes 10 minutes to get that and do the paper work.

    theres 30 minutes.
It would then take me at least an hour to get to the car in normal traffic and potentially 2
it takes about 30 minutes to load and chain down a rover (and thats a beam axle independants take longer)
I then have to drive back which is another hour
I then have to unload (30 minutes)and return the trailer (30 more)

lets say I charge $50 (good luck getting that in the real world) an hour all up thats $200 in time alone assuming the traffic was light. plus the hire of the trailer ($50 for 4 hours usually) and that doesnt include insurance costs or fuel.

you might get it cheaper using a tilt tray but the ones that I know of have about a $100 callout and charge a rate per kilometer.

so all up, in this example, for me to do it the minimum cost (not counting insurance or fuel) your up to $850. And thats assuming that nothing causes any delays.

Are these pipes gold plated !!!

They retail "about" £50 each, so is that about $200 AUD ??

The fliter kit is cheap as chips as already posted, and even if you drop the sump, theres no way you'll get 8 litres of fluid in there "UNLESS" the hose split whilst driving and it dumped it all over the road (which is does VERY quickly!!!)

Both jobs are not hard if you can use a spanner tbh.
