    Unhappy help climate control issue

hi guys jumped in my 2000 disco after work hit the key and all was well for about 2sec the climate control started but then the fans went out totally i cant get them to start no matter what i do. i checked the fuse under the bonnet all is good but there are three fuses under the dash fuses 6 and 7 have no power to them at all but 31 has power .the lcd display on the climate control is working and all the buttons are working and i can hear the a/c coming on it appears to be confined to the fans in the front and rear you can feel the cold air just cant get it out .any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just fixed mine this morning but yours may be a different problem.

The power to fuse 7 of the passenger compartment fuse panel is supplied from the 100A fusible link 4 from the engine compartment. I checked the link and there was 12v there. I then checked the cable where it enters the passenger compartment fuse panel (brown wire with pink tracer) and there was 12v there. So between the rear of the fuse panel and the fuse 12v was going missing. I removed the fuse panel completely and removed all the fuses and relays. I then traced the link from the inlet pin to the fuse and I found a dry joint next to the fuse pin and resoldered it. Problem was solved.

You may just want to try a second hand fuse panel.

The blower motors draw a lot of current and I suspect the dry joint was caused by a poor connection overheating.

    Good luck.

Rather than just add a 'Thanks', as this post sorted out my aircon issues, thought I'd add a piccie of the dry joint I found in my fuse box.

Fuse box in question is the one in the dash, under the steering wheel. A single 10mm bolt at the top holds it in, and then a bit of gymnastics will allow you to disconnect the cable connectors and get it out. Unclip the case and remove the fuses and you will be left with a couple of circuit boards sandwiched together.

On the climate control a/c, fuses 6 & 7 supply power to the front and centre blower fans respectively, and the circled joint below is where 12V is supplies to the fuses. In my case, this was the dry joint, and touch of heat from a soldering iron was enough to remelt the solder and make everything happy again.
