    Ashcroft CDL kit

    Gday, All,

can anyone who has installed this kit tell if I can use the same 4 bolts that held the previous selector in place or do I need to get longer bolts..

I broke 1 removing them so want to know if I need 4 longer or 1 the same.

I seem to recall reading thet you need to get longer bolts..

    Thanks and Cheers Ean

Same mounting bolts can be used, one thing to remember when re-installing the tunnel plate, is not to put the rivet closest to the new lever back in, as it will rub, I forget the amount of rivets but it's one less when re-installing

Yes you can use the same bolts...But you need to make the square opening bigger.

    Gday All,
Fitted an Ashcroft CDL today and followed the post's and the pics in the projects and tutorial section and just wanted to add a couple of things.

The CDL light came on once I connected it up and held it in place, so I put it all back together and low and behold start-up and no dash light..Moved the car forward and back a couple of feet and still no light, so aftre checking all the connections pulled it all apart and checked, couldn't find nothing and still no light, so drove the car down the driveway and bingo the light came on....Something to remember..

When you hook it up the CDL activates with the sideways movement, bumbo here was trying to work out how I had it the wrongway around..A cup of caffine later and the penny dropped..

Mine was very hard at first to move into High/Low, which stumped me as it just connects back to the new lever the same as the old, I got under the car and adjusted the threaded sections, but think it was just the lever and once I moved it a few times it seemed ok..

So 5 1/2 hrs later and many comments from SWMBO later it was all back together and even works..

Thanks to those who suppied the threads and pics on how to fit the CDL..

    Cheers Ean

It cost me 245pounds plus 65pounds freight which at the time was $595 all up..I priced 2 here in Aust and they wanted over $1000 per kit
I emailed Ashcroft on Monday and it took 3 emails to organise it all and it arrived in Darwin on the friday...

they got back to me within 10mins and at the time I was trying to buy some other stuff in Aust and they never replied until the next day sometimes 2 days later..

    Would recommend Ashcrofts to anyone..

    Cheers Ean
