    [QUOTE=Pedro_The_Swift;1162502]This from TGO,,

    Very confusing indeed. Would it be safe to assume that MY2003 (sold in Aust 2004) would have the cabin operated CDL via the low/high range lever?
    I am currently doing remote negotiation on a MY2003 ( registered 10/04 in Qld) TD5 & dealer (non LR) cannot confirm that it has remote CDL. Actually he didn't even know what it was!
    They are asking $28999 for vehicle with country pack & 98K. I have got them down to $27K dependent on LR report. Do you think this is a good deal?

    Cheers..B

    The way I understand it is: if it is the later D2a model (with the doodaa headlights) then it has the factory cdl complete with cable shifter mechanism incorporated into the high/low gear selector.

    Mine was built 03/03 and on the road registered 4 months later, so it would be a safe bet your has the in cab actuator as mine does.
    What it's worth only you can judge, you can spend an additional couple of $K personalizing it which you should factor in as well.
    I would do a few searches on similar cars to get some perspective but you will pay less for private.
    I purchased mine away from home through a dealer, then had a couple of small warranty issues, ended up to hard, (time consuming) so I fixed it my self.
    Good Luck

    They re-introduced the IN CAB CDL in 2002 June/July/August, Phils (discowhite) D2 is a 2002 build date D2a and his has the IN CAB CDL.

    To activate the Centre Diff move the lever to the left, just like the D1 and Defender, the only difference is the D2a is cable operated and the D1 and Def is a linkage system.

    G'day Bruiser.

    I purchased a D2a last May/June. Td5 Auto Classic Country with 120k. Manufactured 02/2004 with first rego 04/2004. Is optioned with rear A/C, factory DVD, metallic paint, cloth interior, 7 seats (SLS), waterproof seat covers, factory rubber floor mats, in very clean straight condition with virtually no signs of off-road use underneath (it's almost clean as a whistle underneath) ... paid $22k unregistered, and had to do the front tailshaft uni's, and a leaking turbo oil drain hose ... it came from an auto wholesaler in Sydney (found on Ebay!)

    I think I got a really good deal ... screw 'em a bit further!
