Fog Lights to Bull Bar Conversion

Finally got the chance after nearly 8 months to install the D2a fog lights into my sahara bar.

Mine is a 01 D2, with the D2a Sahara bar. I had the factory square bumper lights in mine originally, so when I took off the bumper I assumed the plug would plug straight back into the D2a light.

Only issue now is the factory plug from my bumper Fog lights (01 D2) does not plug directly into the D2a round light, bugger....

Does anyone know where or how I can get the right plug to connect up to the D2a light? I don't like my chances of getting the plug from a wrecked D2 as the lights were hard enough to come by.

Really need some suggestions as I would love for the fog lights to work obviously.

    Thanks

Just cut both plugs off, buy some plug sets (male/female) and wire them up. Or go straight to the pins on the fog lamps with wire and seal. Alternativley cut the plugs off a wrecked D2a, and wire them into your loom. Out of interest where did you get the lamps from in the first place?

    cheers

    Hi Nick,

Not being that good with electrics, I cannot cut off the plug on the Fog Lamp end as it is all part of a sealed unit, so the plug stands so to speak. I can cut the original wiring from the car, just not at the lamp as per attached pic.

I got the lamps from very generous forum member some months ago but had to source the brackets etc to mount them. believe it or not the week I got the lamps, there were a set on ebay, after I had been looking for ages....always the way.

You could solder directly to the pins, or there may be female spade connectors available from the like of narva etc to fit. Its prob a 2-3mm fitting by the looks.

I could check out some of the WA wreckers to see what they have in the way of D2a bits if you like.

    cheers

Nick appreciate the offer, thanks. If you don't mind asking around the wreckers that would be great.

I recently fitted some D2a fog lights to my ARB Sahara Bar on my D2. My previous bumber bar had no lights mounted into it, so no wiring at all to use. Instead, I have just run new wiring for my fog lights off of the low beam.
I spliced into the headlight wiring and cut off the plugs from the D2a fog lights and scotch-locked and heat-shrinked on the new wiring. Put a nice Narva switch on the binnacle in the cab. Works like a dream!
Only problem in doing this, is that the fog lights only turn on when the headlights are on low beam. I have been told that having fog lights that are able to be on with your high-beams is illegal anyway, so this is no big deal.

IIRC having foglights on wth low beam is illegal too. They are supposed to be used in conjunction with park lights only, in times of poor visibility (smoke, heavy rain, fog, etc).
