Same Problem, But how do you deal with the alarm

I can not unlock the drivers door with the remote either, however I can unlock all others with the remote-no probs.
It will open from the interior but you have to climb in from the passenger side and clamber over to do it
If I try to unlock the drivers door with the key the bloody alarms go off.
If I press the remote button as I turn the key in the drivers door it unlocks as normal.

Can I disconnect the alarm system from the drivers door only or is it the usual "replace parts" to solve my problems?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

Bottom line is you need a new lock assy for the defective door.

Yep. Because of the standard Disco security feature where a single press on the fob button unlocks the drivers door only (unless you have changed the programming to unlock all doors with a single press), the drivers doorlock mechanism will on most vehicles see more use than the other doors, and will generally be the first to wear out.

Holden Commodores (at least the VN) had the same issue.

I still reckon it's a good feature and would not change the programming in mine. Another way to look at it - if all of your doors unlocked every time you used the remote fob, then by the time that the mechanism in the drivers door was worn out and up for replacement, then the rest would be also.

See ............... Landrover have actually thought of a way to save us money.
    Cheers .........

    Parts

    Thanks Chaps

Doing the internet search for parts as we speak. Looking for the door latch and a window regulator.

Genuine door latch so far for about $125. Pretty cheap.
    Window regulator anywhere from 69 - 159.

    Still looking

    Regards
    Andrew

Do you really think that way is better ?

I have turned of single point locking as its a real pain in da bum, and I'm convinced its the opposite, when only unlocking the drivers doors, the others sort of "struggle" to open but are kept shut, I think it wears them out more.
