Hi Mate,
I've been looking at getting extractors for my D2 V8 and I noticed most suppliers mention 3.5 and 3.9 V8 not the 4.0L, but the other day I noticed this ad on ebay:
UVE HEADERS EXTRACTORS 4 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY V8 4WD - eBay Other, Exhausts, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 08-Mar-10 16:20:14 AEDST)
At the bottom of the item he states they are available for the 4.0L V8
Cheers Matt

Looks pretty good, but so does the price. I've been told that some mechanics just weld on some nuts to the exhaust system to take the original sensors, not sure whether this is true or not.
Cheers Matt

Very easy to do, just trim off the sensor mounts with a smidgin of your old exhaust pipe, makes it a piece of cake to weld them back on.

Liverpool exhaust in Syd make decent headers. I am sure they do D2's in their Hurricane brand. Contact them to find out who carries them in your part of the world. High volume joints don't charge a lot. My total cost installed was less than a $100 more than cheapest supply only. While you have it up replace OEM with with a 2 1/2" single pipe, minimal muffler and resonator to minimise the drone. Might not be the most powerfull V8 in the world but it will sure sound like one.
