Hi All,
I'm planning a weeks trip to Straddie with camper trailer in two weeks. Last time sand was very soft as it hadn't rained for months & I got badly stuck when I had to turn to line up beach exit. From most posts I have read engaging CDL is a big help in these situations. I have Disco 2000 TD5 which should have stigot to engage CDL. My query is where is it located on transfer case ? I got under vehicle yesterday but couldn't see it. Is it on the top & out of sight? I would like to install some sort of lever to actuate if only from under vehicle. Anyone done this? In cabin would be nice but a lot of work & expense.
Cheers..B

How did you get this pic?
2003 D2a Auto TD5 good Landy gone
2015 D4 probably the most amazing yet, why get a RR?
When I installed an 04 D2a factory CDL in my D2.
It's an 03/04 D2a factory CDL.
In projects and Tutorials is my install of this factory CDL, It's still on page 1 I think, I bought it second hand from AMV in Victoria.
Price $375, give Bundalene a PM, he may have one, the prices have gone up though.

This weekend I tried to actuate the spiggot using a 10mm open ender, for the first time.
The easiest way I could find was to lie on my back under the vehicle (head to front, feet to back), and place my right hand up past the passenger side of the double cardan joint, and reach up over the top of the front output housing.
You can actually position your head from here and see the spigot.
I did this in my car port with the car on ramps for a bit of practice.
How the hell I am going to manage this up the bush, I don't know.
The under body linkage is the next priority.
cheers,
biggin
Also when you do turn on your CDL make sure that you have the car running and you won't loose your TC and ABS, if you do turn the car off and on while the CDL is in, they will come on also, it sucks... I have heard of people cutting a wire to stop it from doing that, does anyone know which one it is?
