Well its good to see a discussion ref the "pro's and con's" of the bumper.............But your facts ref the SRS are not right my friend.
The Ali crush cans fitted to the standard vehicle "absorb" some of the impact in a frontal collision, thats their job...... fact. This will affect how bad the frontal collision is and depend on whether the airbags go or not.
If you remove the crush cans and bolt ANYTHING directly to the chassis this WILL affect the SRS deployment as all the force is subjected to the solid part of the vehicle (ie chassis), therefore there is no "give", the sensors for the airbags will then detect the de-celeration rate at 100% and WILL deploy earlier.
You are far more likely then to damage the front of the chassis as opposed to damaging the "replacable" bumper.
This is why the likes of ARB incorporate a "crush" section into the mountings of the Winch bar to replicate the factory vehicle "crush characteristics", and unfortunately probably 99% of "offroad" manufacturers don't do that.
airbag deployment has nothing to do with impact... they are decelrometer sensors... it has to do with stopping force... you can do a lot of body damage and not deploy the airbags if the vehicle doesnt make an abrubt stop... those crush cans you refer to dont affect the sensors at all.. we did have our bumpers DOT (deepartment of transportation here in the states) tested for this reason.... that is how I know that they do not affect deployment in any way what so ever...

Well, you seem to have grasped the theory but choose to ignore it.........
if theres no crush can on yours or any other bumper, you will ALWAYS come to an abrupt stop as there is no give in the front end, no skin of my nose if you dont see it.
So the DOT in the states "crash tested" your bumpers yes ? I find it hard to beleive a "small" company like yourselves could finance such a test, but I could be wrong...........
Apologies, but NO, I have no affiliation with ARB corporation.
I neither distribute their products, nor work with them.
I do however, use their products  and have tested theirs and other manufacturers products.... Sometimes to destruction ;)
I dont live in a city, I live in an area re known for its animal strikes - Not unusual to see 100-200 Kangaroos on the 75km stretch of road between here and the shack!
We (the local 4wd club) have used almost everything in some way or another, and have even been involved with product testing for several world market 4wd accessory manufacturers.
When it comes to frontal protection in Australia... ARB wins hands down for performance. Some people dont like the look and go a TJM as its closer to the bodyline.. Others go a custom bar - The Toyota guys love their competition style tube bars at the moment. The latter are great for nudging a tree or rock offroad, but totally useless if you hit something at speed.
You need to remember - in the USA even in the remote  areas you're never that far from help. Over here it can be a long long time before you see another person.... You use real protection or it has very real consequences... Dont forget, we have Long Horn cattle on properties where the highways and trails are... No fences.... And nothing will help you if you hit one of them at speed!
Anyway, I acknowledged your workmanship, I critiqued your design...
I offered you genuine and honest feed back - from MY point of view
I've never been a fan of the 'yank' SUV look - I prefer an expedition type look personally... So rated your 'offering' from my view.
If you're making these and selling them then all power to you... And I wish you well in your endeavours.
you seem to think I am a small company... why is that? and having the a bumper crash tested isnt that expensive, only a few grand... for the certification part... the real life testing has been done by us as well as customers both purposely and accidentally... and I have emails and letter galor of people who thanked us for saving their vehicle...
I appreciate the critique and input, and I know how popular ARB and TJM are over there... and I know its a tough market to crack... but considering the strength and durability of our stuff, once we break ground officially, I know we will make a dent in the market there... and the US and Canada has some wide open areas and I have seen many of them... so its not all over populated like you seem to think... and if I ever end up coming over there with one of my trucks, I will gladly go find some roos if you want me to...
This is my tow rig that we take everywhere on long trips with the show trucks on a trailer behind it... we built this as a one off grille guard to protect against animals and anything else that would get in our way, and wee even re-inforced the frame behind it to make sure we would just push through whatever we hit... this truck is set for an 8" lift and 37" tires here in about 2 weeks, but you get the idea...
