Hey pecker head ok you win! You know it all and there is no point to fight over something that was a new Idea. All we did was make a new look for the D2 bumper. You dont like it ok understandable but we have had some that do like it and want one asap. So thanks for the nice sweet words on the bumper. I will be sure to deliver you one in person when you order! As for the MODS watch all you like edit more of the posts what ever I was not making any sale on here just showing you something new!

I have to book plane tickets to oz now so I can hand deliver this bumper to our buddie here haha. Bet me I won't!

dude, no name calling required... a lot of people are set in their old school ways and there is no changing them... its always a hard thing to introduce something new to the market that has been flooded... its all good... but you are making a bad name for us yanks... everyone, keep in mind he lives in new york and I live in Arizona... the cold kills some of his brain cells... LOL

Some advice if you wish to hit our market...

ADRs... Read them... 'Australian Design Rules' govern a lot of things, including Barwork, lights, etc.. on vehicles...

Even if certified overseas, products must again be locally tested and certified in OUR testing processes. In the case of frontal protection it requires the crashing of a vehicle fitted with the said barwork and conformance with vehicle manufacturers SRS specifications.

Protrusion... Must follow the line of the original vehicle... No forward protrusions, uprights *must* be raked rearwards. No sharp/harsh edges etc...

Lights and mounting... Maximum on vehicle front = 6... This includes factory headlights... Must be fitted in PAIRS, so 3 is not legal....
Lights cannot be mounted on top of a hoop.. and cant be visible in line of sight over the bonnet (hood) from the drivers seat (remain below bonnet line)

"if" you read my post that you have also quoted, you will see the "small" company is in inverted comma's, that sort of tells you it was an "assumption", not a definate -- your are small, As I don't know how big you are ?

If you give us an idea how many bumpers you have produced and sold so far then I will have an idea. Either way I still doubt, and by what you have posted you have not actually had the bumpers tested "properly"

Manufacturers of vehicles spend millions on crash testing, and the likes of ARB probably spent a LOT as well, and I KNOW you have not done that.

Saying that your m8 crashed one into the tree on the local trail and the car survived is not really worth anything tbh, it needs to properly tested in controlled enviroment by a dedicated company in MANY different ways / types of frontal impacts and at various speeds, you simply would not have the finance to do that kind of testing............please correct me if i'm wrong ?

I for one would like to see a scanned copy of your DOT test to see what it actually says ?....genuinely interested......

Oh and btw even the "factory" addons that Land Rover sell for ALL the vehicles, ie Bull bars, "A" bars etc, are all AIRBAG approved, now why would they spend money in testing / approving that ? if it does not affect the vehicle in a frontal collision ?

You wanted feedback and ideas on your bar, I commented on the fact that you and most bull bar and recovery point manufacturers have NO IDEA on how a shackle should be used in a towing/snatch/recovery operation.
My experience is 40+ years as a Class1 Ticketed Rigger (legal to work as a rigger anywhere in the world), Scaffolder, Crane Driver, dogman and at least 40+ years of driving off road in 4WD vehicles.
Now shackles are designed to be used in a straight ahead pull ONLY. Shackles connected to your recovery points only have 180 degree travel in an up and down motion. I am yet to see a tree (anchor point) growing in the middle of a fire trail, SO in almost 100% of winching/ snatching/ recovery operation are done at an angle that is not dead straight ahead. even fitting a bridle strap is going to pull the shackles (on your B/Bar) to the side, depending on how big the hole in the recovery point and how thick it is any pull to the side (and I'm not talking 90 degrees here) will jam the shackle pin in the recovery point hole. Go out side and see how far you can move the shackle in your pics sideways, either way, you will see that the load is transferred diagonally to the shackle pin and causes undue stress on the body of the shackle and pin. When you find after a while that the shackle pin is hard to unscrew, you will have destroyed the integrity of the shackle and it should be discarded. If the recovery points had the hole in the VERTICAL axis (opposite to yours) then the shackles will be able to move into alignment with the line of pull and no dangerous stresses imposed on the shackle. Have a look at most ARB bars with the 2 recovery(?) lugs under the front of most of their bars and you will notice that in almost all cases they are bent inwards towards the centre line of the vehicle, what causes this, shackle pins jammed against the lugs causing them to bend in. In the case of the ARB bars these lugs are only about 6mm thick at best so they bend quite readily, unlike yours which look much thicker and would soon bend the shackle, making it dangerous, esp. in a Snatch situation.
Now if you can't see this then you have no right saying that you went to a lot of trouble to DESIGN these bars and recovery points, after all it is only a matter of COMMONSENSE, Regards Frank.

I recon this is probably one of the most bazaar posts.Obviously these bars are not designed for the more serious off rd vehicle
And apart from all the comments made, who in there right mind would not run crush cans behind there bars when the option is there:confused:, Why allow the chassis to take all the brunt:confused:, be it the air bags go off or not stuff having to re straighten a rail or two + what ever else the impact has moved.
Approx $200 per can to replace,(and) I have hit a bank on approch and had to remove the bar and straighten the mounts, if the cans were not there it would have been the chassis and probably radiator.(it was driver error on a tricky track).
So sure wack the bar on if you like the look, its up to the individual, but dont pretend its a great structural design and especially not for the off rd environment.
No insults intended.

Understandable good points made! I will look into some other options and see what we can do. Crush cans and recovery points. But like i said I will be running this flat bumper with no bars this season so if you like please email me and I will send you some pictures of what it looks like and how it works.

I Stand behind IronBullBumpers 100% they wont put a bad product out there guys. If i run it and find it to have many problems then they will pull it! So lets just keep our eyes open to new ideas and lets see where it goes. Thank you again guys you know off roading better then most. Thats why we posted it i the OZ room first! Thanks guys
