All right guys ask and you shall receive…
Here is the New Iron Bull Bumper for the Discovery 2 Please take a look at tell me what you think. I will be running this Bumper this race season and will have a full report for you on its performance. This is outside of the traditional off road bumpers that are typically found on rovers but I think you will enjoy the new look. It offers a nice factory look but can deliver you 100% off road capability when needed.

Looks good to me.
Both with the top bars, and without.
Why do you insist on putting the tow/snatch eyes on with the holes horizontal, the shackles fitted are NOT designed to be pulled sideways, if you had the holes vertical it would allow the shackles to swing a full 180 degrees without damaging the shackle, Regards Frank.
will be keeping an eye on it to see how it goes
the shackle mounts are vertical so they lay flay when not in use... by putting them horzontal one, they would make a ton of noise swinging back and forth.. and two, it would promote inproper use of them.... in no way what so ever, by tow hooks, shackles, or a winch, are you supposed to side pull... straight pull is the proper way to do it... so there is a reason for it...
Noise!! what a load of crap, HOW would it promote improper use. Unless you are pulling dead straight ahead and that is the EXCEPTION rather than the rule you are damaging the shackle, a simple bridle attached to both shackles is a perfect example of pulling sideways on the shackles with the pins horizontal and the only way to get a straight pull on the shackles is to have the shackle pin vertical so as the shackle can properly swing through a 180 degree arc.
Have a look at how many bars you see with the shackle mounting plates bent inwards towards the centre of the bar, Regards Frank.
do me a favor and crawl under your rig... take a look at that nice little accordian section that is called a crumple zone... if you dont pull straight, one side of that will stretch and the other side will collapse... I have seen it numerous times... I have seen other manurfacturers bumpers fail too because of it... straight pull is all you are supposed to do... ask any bumper manufacturer, ask any winch manufacturer, schit, ask any tow/recovery company... if you cant get a straight pull from the front, then you need to get a straight pull from the back... side pulling is a RULE, not an exception like you stated...
please, show me a bumper that has a shackle mount how you would like it... I have yet to see someone do it that way because everyone who knows anything about offroad knows how to pull someone out...
Honestly? Bar looks awful...
Overhanging front barwork, non-swivelling recovery points...
That brush bar will punch anything you hit down into the steering gear/driveline.... Not great for local fauna...
And What is the obsession on blocking almost entire airflow from a grill ?
I admire the workmanship, but its the design I dont like.
On off angle recovery.... for example, ARB test their bars with off centre recovery..... Knowing its common! I've never had a straight line recovery using a winch.. Ever...
The 'accordion' section (crush can) had better not be the original alloy one on that bar... YIKES!!!! Even ARB etc, manufacture and test their own Crush cans... Rated to a 15t impact before deformation...
