    Dash Dismantle

    Hay guys

I was driving last night and looked over at the clock to find the light had gone. I no it's only a minor thing but I like it fixed and like to be able to see the time.
I was just wondering if anyone knows a good thread about dismantling the dash to get to the clock as I don't won't to break anything(only just bought the car).

    Thanks in advance.

    Hopeless

Hi Guys, you know I took my disco to Ford in Gladstone to get a service as we have no LR dealer here and never again!! I've changed these globes before but thought I might as well get them to do it while its in there, they came back and told me they pulled it apart and couldn't find a globe and would have to replace the whole clock!! And they use to be a LR agent!!! Hopeless.
Just a bit of useless info!!

No they didn't charge me for that but to change the oil/filter, replace the tranny oil, adjust the headlights and look for a misfire prob which they could'nt find was $680. told me they didn't have a diagnostic tool to find the fault so I ended up changing the leads myself and they fell apart in my hands when i removed them!

I learnt a lesson that day??!!

Ever been in sales? Took me an hour to solder the new globe in place and I use a soldering iron regularly! Kept getting dry joints and when I did get it connected the size of the solder joint made it impossible to get the globe back into the fitting!

It is more cost effective to buy the correct replacement (what price do you put on your time)?

If you just want a straight swap you can get the bulb and holder for $10 (plus $2 postage) on ebay. Not sure if that's cheap or not.

Land Rover Discovery Clock Bulb & holder replacement - eBay, Other, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 01-Apr-10 15:55:06 AEDST)
