    Gah! It's the Disco Sags!! (from the SLS bags!)

    Great!!

    I'd been trying to track this one down for a week or so.. Ever since my last service (including rear brakes - related??) my passenger rear SLS airback has been RANDOMLY deflating. It would drop down over time when parked, but fill again when driving and be at drive height. It wouldn't always do it (especially not when i wanted it to.. ) just randomly. tried parking flat, different direction slopes etc etc. Couldn't seem to trigger it.

    It dropped me on the way home tonight, and I find it's a leaky bag (the ol' soapy liquid in a spray bottle trick eh?).

    *insert long drawn out sigh*

    That and my recent visitation from the 3 Amigos... did I buy the right car? Damn! I love this thing tho!!

    Money is really tight right now.. I have a warranty but suspension is not listed, and therefore not covered. soooo...


    1. AIRBAG MAN | Australia's No. 1 & leading Air Suspension :: Airbags :: Air Springs Specialists ? any thoughts? found it on a post here.
    2. SLS riser kits.. any thoughts? (while I'm at it - cos i do like the adjustable height thing)
    3. Springs? (cost/effectiveness comparison to SLS bags?)

    Thinking of trecking down to Ricks 4x4 or up to that one a redcliff. About time i got "The Canyonero" to a Landy lover methnks.

    After a number of bag failures, I swapped mine for springs. Very happy.

    And the 3 amigos...as has been stated in other threads regarding the same issue, just start with the cheapest/lowest common denominator or fix - and through the process of elimination...you will get there. Well worth it mate. You have done the right thing.

    There was a thread on here a couple of weeks ago, with someone linking to a place in the US that did replacement air-bags.

    I think it was called Truck Spares or similar...

    I will go for a hunt for the post to see if I can find it...

    why anyone would go to coils is beyond me,,

    Just went through the same saga myself and decided to ditch the air and go to coils.

    AMV in Ringwood did mine - total was just over $500 for King springs and installation. I've left the compressor and all SLS gubbins in place in case I ever decide to go back but am very happy with the coils so far.

    ... sorry also meant to mention that I found another source for the airsprings before I changes my mind: Paddock Spares in the UK.

    When I was looking they had Britpart Dunlop bags at around 70 uk pounds ...

    yeah, for some reason ppl have no problem paying for replacement springs when they sag with age, yet get all offended that a rubber spring should ever leak let alone lasting 10 years which is longer than the life if a rubber tyre.

    stick with the airbags, you'll only ever have to replace them once if you get good ones to start with.

    Brittish Offroad on the Sunshine coast do bags for $375 each, you can replace them really easily so you don't have to worry about getting them to fit it and having to pay labour. I'm in Brissie also so i can always come over and give you a hand with it if you needed. I have just done a coil conversion from the SLS as i had a bag go. Personally I think the air bags are alot more comfortable to drive on, and are fantastic for when you pack the car up. I just wanted something reliable because i smash my underbody a fair bit and I could just see my compressor getting nailed and then having to fork out the 800 (or so?) for a new one.

    Late last year I compared prices between the Arnotts bags with freight etc from the USA and local prices for bags here. They were to start off with wildly different in cost with the Yanks winning handsdown.

    However I ended up buying a set of Dunlop replacement bags from the Airbag man in Queensland. I told him the price landed here for the Arnott bags and he did them with freight for around $130 extra for the set from memory. Arrived the next day to Goulburn and they were very helpful.

    Now if I have any warrenty issues I just call a local not someone overseas, for the peace of mind that has got to be worth a few extra dollars as far as I'm concerned

    Really its just a case of haggling to get a good price and next day service.
