Just a quick check....
Trying to source some 255/65 R16 for my 2004 Disco.
However, the man from Jax Quick Fix Tyres suggested that 245/70 R16 will do the same job. Quoted prices about $100 less per tyre on the basis that 245 are more readily available and more choice i.e. Pirelli ATRs available at $265 each.
Looking at various threads it appears to be nearly the same rolling diameter. Should there be any difference loosing 10mm off the tread width?

Yeah I just bought a set of Scorpion ATR's for my rig and have to say they are a great tyre and pretty reasonable price too. Time will tell with wear & tear???
I am thinking of fitting Michelins, I got over 100,000 out of the originals and always thought they performed well.
. Any thoughts on the LTX/AT2 ?
The speed rating is only R (S for the passenger construction) but I really want the LT construction. Open to suggestions on fitting the 235/85 as well, maybe a little too tall ?
The others are the Latitude Cross, they look more road friendly but I am yet to meet anyone with them fitted.
